Grasslands was established in March 1997 as a means  of supporting innovative
community projects and an end  in itself by supplying products that are good for
the producer, consumer and the environment. It is collectively run by a small group of people and the majority of the work is on an unpaid/volunteer basis.
Grasslands has provided over $70,000 to a range of community groups including:
- Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
- Food Not Bombs
- Human Rights Centre for Mental Health Inc.
- Independent media groups such as
Community Radio 3CR and The Paper
- Inner West Community Garden Collective
- and many other community groups, campaigns and actions

We have developed a sustainable trading policy with an emphasis on providing products that are: certified organic/biodynamic; free of animal ingredients; minimally processed/packaged;
healthy to use; affordable; locally made; produced by small enterprises that have good working conditions and who are not involved in other unethical or unsustainable practices.

Grasslands provides a grocery delivery service to the inner, western and northern suburbs of Melbourne. Grocery orders can be made using the contact details below or by submitting the
order form on this site. Orders and payment must be made by 4pm Wednesday for delivery on Thursday. Payments can be made by cheque (4 days prior to delivery), money order or by electronic transfer into our credit cooperative.
In order for us to track your electronic payment please ensure you provide your full name as the reference code on the payment request.

Grasslands grocery is currently open Thursday 10am - 6pm.
however grocery orders and inquiries can be made anytime
using the contact details listed below.
Unfortunately Grasslands gave more than it could and until we can once again afford to fund groups and projects we hope to continue to support them by working cooperatively with groups and sharing the resources, skills and networks we have developed.

Grasslands relies heavily on donations of time, skills and resources; both financial and other,

grasslands are held regularly.
